He has been the chairman of the varaždin branch of the Croatian Association of Artists since 2011. He lives and works in Varaždin as independent artist.
In his work, Opačić is focusing the same existentialist theme, especially in the cycle of sculptures titled "Cyborg". The purpose of his creativity is in resolving the problem of human existence in the modern civilization-technological context, determined by consumer mentality and cultural superficiality. Sculptural forms of Nenad Opačić summarize the tragedy of everyday destruction of humanity in man and the reduction of his humanistic substance. This alienation from his own human nature into mere functionalism and the mechanical repetition of a uniform rhythm of life, forms a robotized man in "Cyborg".
